59th Genoa International Boat Show officially announced at Milan event

The 59th edition Genoa International Boat Show was formally announced in Milan on 5 June 2019 at the headquarters of Il Sole 24 Ore, Italy’s national business newspaper. The popular show, which will take place between the 19th and 24th of September this year, is hosted by UCINA (the Italian marine industry association), with the launch attended by UCINA president Carla Demaria amongst other notable guests, including the Mayor of Genoa, president of Il Sole 24 Ore and president of the Liguria region.
Ahead of the 2019 edition of the show, organisers say that all figures are looking positive, which is positive news for the Italian market. As a result of the show’s popularity, preparations have begun 26% earlier than previous years, and with 100% of their target applications already met, the show is guaranteed to be a busy one.
Due to increased demand, the show will offer significantly more display space in 2019, with a 28% increase in size to the yacht and superyacht areas – a positive sign for superyacht interest within the country. A highlight of the modernised and redesigned set up will be the display of the installation ‘from shipyard to courtyard’ which was created for Sanlorenzo shipyard by Piero Lissoni, Sanlorenzo Art Director, as part of Milan’s Salon del Mobile event.
The 2019 show will see a near 50% increase in sail yachts, with a large range of vessels on display from entry level and up. The outboard sector will see a 73% increase that is reflective of the high performance in this sector. Overseas companies account for approximately half of total growth, with the 59th Genoa International Boat Show cementing its position on the global yachting stage.
The Genoa International Boat Show will be hosted in the middle of the busy European events season, with the Monaco Yacht Show coming just afterwards on 25 to 28 September 2019 and the Cannes Yachting Festival held from 10 to 15 September 2019.
